[Interest] Tag, You're It

Well, we made it through the big day and here we are on Saturday. We had a really nice Christmas and I hope that yours was wonderful too. Bill and I usually get up really early on Christmas morning (sometimes like 4:00 AM!) to open our presents, but this year we didn’t get going until almost 6:00. We give each other lots of things for Christmas, plus all of our stocking stuff and it really takes us a lot of time to get through it all. Another stumbling block is the tags. Everyone else in the world makes gift tags that say tings like "To Dave from Jane" or at the outside, "To My Sweetie Pie From Your Snookums" or some such. But in Bill’s family, there is a history of making strange cryptic tags that give a clue to the gift, so we do that on our gifts. For instance, if you give someone postage stamps, the tag would be "To King George III (you remember him from the Stamp Act) From Alexander Hamilton" (who was the first Postmaster General of the new United States.) One year when I gave Bill a doormat, the tag was "To Jim Morrison (of the musical group, the Doors) From Marshall Dillon" (Matt from "The Virginian" TV show.) When he gave me new shower curtains, the tag was "To April (showers) From The Drip." Anyway, it goes on and on like that.
